“Fans of Jim Jarmusch are likely to enjoy "One Night With You," a hiply designed and smoothly written combination of film noir and physical comedy from first- time writer/director Joe D'Augustine.”

"Fresh, well written, genuinely funny."
–Jenny Burman, LA Observed

As an editor, first-time director Joe D'Augustine has worked with Robert Downey Sr., Michael Cimino and Quentin Tarantino. His recent projects include "Death Proof" and restoring Sergio Leone's "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly."  D'Augustine got the inspiration for his feature debut in the 1970s, when his kid brother Robbie worked a magical spell on their depressed uncle Ralph, luring him out of a deep funk by sprinkling baby powder and "holy water" on the retired boxer.

This image of a strong man locked inside himself and brought back into the world for one last spree became the story of Jake Tarlow (Mark Boone Junior), the down-on-his-luck hustler who can pay off his bookie if he can just track down reclusive author Hunter Burnell (Michael Parks) and deliver him to a movie producer who wants to option a book.

Jake and his Black Dahlia-obsessed buddy Eddie (Jake La Botz) find Hunter semi-catatonic in an East LA garage and kidnap him, kicking off a hilarious Eastside goose chase as the unpredictable Hunter slips away to enjoy booze, broads and cocaine, all paid for with Jake's money.

Blending a film noir sensibility with slapstick physical comedy, exquisite location cinematography with a jazzy score featuring two Italian cinema legends, guitarist Alessandro Alessandroni (Sergio Leone's whistler) and keyboard player Antonello Vannucchi, "One Night With You" is a love letter to the east side of Los Angeles and a hugely entertaining character study as funny as it's poignant.
